Where to find the information you seek

I've been getting a lot of hits the past few days.  Lots of .gov addresses and plenty from Kent Ohio, as well.

If you are looking for information on Dr. Julio Pino and the contraversy over his relationship to the globalwar blog, the best place to start is with Mike Adams' columns.  Markedmanner is covering the whole thing with updates and I will post any information I come across as I see it unless it is already getting plenty of coverage in other places.

This whole affair is a sad reminder of how delicate the balance is between freedom and responsibility.  As offended as I am with many of the posts on GlobalWar, my three main contentions have always been these:

1- If this does constitute free speech, then it shouldn't be conducted on the tax payers dime. He should be blogging from home on his own PC.

2- Dr. Pino's anti-American views should be well-known enough for students to have an opportunity to make a well informed choice before taking his class.

3- Any speech that has the power to incite violence must be subject to legal review and regulation.  When a person publishes the name and address of an abortionist and some fruitcake commits homicide based on that publication, the author is held to account.  While GlobalWar usually speaks in generalities, his private emails convey a different picture.  On one occasion he claimed to have inside knowledge of "the next attack".  Whether or not that was bravado or an attempt to prey on perceived fears, I am not qualified to judge.  I hope so.  Certainly, these facts illustrate why the blog and it's author merit investigation.  The fact that someone else may act on the writings at GlobalWar are reason enough for the current firestorm of publicity.

What do I hope happens to the author of GlobalWar?  In a word, nothing.  I hope that he is censured by the university for launching his electronic jihad on the people's dime.  I hope the notoriety of his writings makes every student listen with greater skepticism when they sit through his lectures.  I hope it removes the blinders so that people know exactly with whom they are dealing and so that his employers know that oversight is required.  And I hope that so long as words are all he has for weapons, that he continues to teach.  Because then, we'll always know exactly where he is, what he's doing and who he's chatting with on the internet and over the phone.  Sometimes, our prisons are of our own making.

    I've been explaining to people all over the net that it's FAKE NEWS.

  5. I have been monitoring that with glee since I got back from a week away. That fake news part added a little spice to the story and it looks like our goal of publicizing pino's bs has been working. All of us had voluminous posts and articles and I hear a number of emails went out to KSU officials. The latest I saw is that KSU is claiming there is no link between the website and pino. The ISP address out to be the nail in pino's ociferous coffin.What does your buddy 'Harry' think of all this? Bill O'Reilly?
    What is he up to?

  6. You know, it's been on Fox, Glenn Beck, Mike Gallagher.

    I emailed Glenn Beck last night with an offer to tell the whole story as we know it. I saved every single email, every single screen shot. I have the emails you sent to Jameson and Dowd. Everything.

    EB, I'm sure has all of his screen shots. I even have the email where we came up with the FBI sting idea. It's hysterical to read people's comments - like a sociological experiment gone awry - all the while I want to scream "Where have you people been?" and "Why are you not interested in the evidence?"

    I have offered evidence to so many people it's not funny. Only Mike Adams responded.

    It's funny to hear some of these talking heads say "We'll get to the bottom of this." When you and I both know we contacted them a year ago and didn't even get back so much as a read receipt.

    How many wannabe jihadis has he influenced in that time?

  7. I don't care about who gets the credit or even about delay. Ultimately justice will be served by pino being kicked out. Anyone participating toward that goal is a real American.

  9. BTW, I offered to send Glenn Beck everything but only so long as we keep our anonymity. That's okay with ya'll right? I haven't talked to C-mom and Susan's name is already out there.

    Likely no one will follow up anyway. And EB and I have already contacted Mike Adams. Same with AOW.

    Agreed. I don't think any of us care about 15 minutes of fame. It is frustrating to come up against the apologists who defend him because they haven't seen proof, when we know that the story is accurate. But I guess, some people will defend the indefensible at any cost.

  12. One of my biggest concerns has been the impact his words have had on other, more easily influenced people.

    I think your FBI sting post had a postive impact in that regard.
