In an Australian court today, a psychologist defended his treatment of a bulimic patient.  Apparently, putting her in a dog callar and threatening her with a whip is an ethical and possibly effective recourse when all else fails.  You buying that?  Me neither.

My husband and I were friends with a practicing psychologist in New York who once told us something I've never forgotten. I'll paraphrase. 'The most depraved and degrading organizations in this country is the American Associations of Psychology and Psychiatry.'  Hmmm. Interesting.
