Just in time for the holiday rush

You'll think I'm joking.  But sadly, I'm not.  Today's Daily Mail has an article about sex toys for kids.  You can buy your daughter a pole dancing kit or a deck of cards for your son with pornographic pictures on them.  The kit which, due to contraversy with family groups, has been pulled from toy shelves, will still be sold in the fitness section of Tesco stores.  Nevermind that the product's intent is made clear by the tagline emblazened on it's cheap pink plastic packaging "unleash the sex kitten inside."  What the hell kind of world is this when not only will some sicko come up with the idea for this product, aimed at grade school girls, but a group of businessmen sitting around a boardroom table will agree to fund production.  The pedophilic tendencies continue as marketers conclude that stocking and selling the merchandise is AOK.  It took a 33 year old mother of 2 young girls to stand up to the wave of indecency.

  1. O/T check it out - something I copied off of a Lost message board -

Apparently a white rabbit figures into a lot. I've been perusing some TWoP threads, and here is what they've come up with.

"The rabbit was another Stephen King reference, so we might want to add that to the list -- specifically, it's from his book "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft." In the section about what writing is, he says that, simply, writing is Telepathy. And then he goes on to prove it by describing an aquarium with a white rabbit inside, with a large number 8 drawn on its back; he says that this is an example of telepathy, because he had an image in his mind which he has now transmitted into the mind of the reader."

"one of the major issues in "Watership Down" was the lack of females in the new warren. They had to go out and steal some. And, as we all know, Sawyer was reading "Watership Down" in Season One. Or, as he said, "it's about bunnies". And now Kate's been stolen and there's a fertility doc handy..."

Also, we have the white rabbit leading Alice in Alice in Wonderland, and also in The Matrix, Neo was supposed to follow the white rabbit.

Above is the link for a Watership Down plot summary. And here is one for Of Mice and Men...

  2. Wasn't last night's episode great? I'm getting hooked on The NINE also though it is getting a little too soap opera for me. Wednesday night is the only time I watch t.v. - although I try to catch Battlestar Galactica on SciFi when it isn't raunchy (hit or miss).

And I do love MONK. My husband says that I understand him...

  3. On topic...

    *barf*

Tesco seems to be only a British chain, or I'd be 100% behind an outright boycott of this chain. Well, I -am- behind a boycott... but for me, it's a moot point.

    Bloody ridiculous...

  4. Hey - we could support cutrate shipping on catalogue orders from the US.

The kicker is that Tesco claimed initially that the product wasn't sexual in nature. Then they claimed it was mislocated as it is a "fitness" item. Uh-huh and I'm the Queen of Sheba
